The aura, which has been described as an energetic bio-body suit, envelops and protects your body. It filters out harmful energies while drawing in supportive, healthy energies that you need. The aura appears sort of like an energy "ovum" that surrounds the body.

Some people can see a person’s aura. An early attempt to make the aura visible to anyone was Kirlian photography. Scientist and inventor Dr. Harry Oldfield worked with Kirlian photographs, but took this many steps forward, to his invention of Polycontrast Interference Photography (PIP). This device is able to visualize and photograph various parts of the human energy field, via digital processing of light interference patterns on and around the body.

When asked whether the colors seen with PIP are the actual colors of the aura, Oldfield says, "Absolutely. These patterns and colors are what I believe clairvoyants and mystics see. They naturally have eye and brain mechanisms that can pick up these subtle changes of light.’

PIP is used all over the world. Dr. Beverly Rubik, President of the Institute for Frontier Science in the United States uses PIP to see the aura and other energy fields. An example of a scan of a Buddhist Lama showed ‘a huge and vibrant aura with dancing lights all around the man…’ She described the PIP scan of someone with depression, sleep disturbances or Seasonal Affective Disorder as, ’showing blackness in the brain stem area.’ Another PIP scan, with ‘pronounced darkness on the right side of the upper abdomen,’ would show a person with possible liver disease.

CHEFR, The Centre for Human Energy Research, along with Dan Kahn of the Bi-Aura foundation, does research using PIP for before and after pictures. In this case, the PIP pictures are before and after Remote Healing sessions. There is a ‘photo album’ of these pictures/videos on the Bi-Aura website. Improvement in the energy field corresponded to the sensations of the subjects.

Here we look at the latest water purification technology for the home or point-of-use. Let’s start with the methods of water purification that are out dated.

Water purification technology dates back thousands of years, beginning with distillation. At first, however, people mainly distilled alcohol. This method increased the alcohol content.

This is one of the methods of water purification that can be used in the home. You, of course, have to buy a distiller and you will need a collection tank. In order to purify lots of liquids in this way, you will also need time, because distillers dispense at a very slow rate.

How does it work? Well, first, the fluid you want distilled is heated by a coil and turns into steam. The vapor travels upward and through a tube until it reaches a cooling chamber. Once there, cooling it returns it to a fluid state.

Compounds like lead, calcium and magnesium will remain in the first tank. Bacteria are destroyed by the heat. Chemical contaminants also become vaporous and pass through the tube along with the water. Cancer causing compounds such as THMs are not removed through distillation methods of water purification. Per gallon, the cost of use is 20 to 26 cents.

Reverse osmosis or RO was at one time considered advanced water purification technology. RO methods of water purification work by forcing pressurized liquids through a semi permeable membrane. Because, most inorganic contaminants are larger molecularly than water’s molecules, certain contaminants and minerals are removed.

To get rid of smaller molecules, like pesticides, herbicides, and many other man-made compounds, a carbon filter is necessary in addition to RO. These two methods of water purification should be used together. However, the combination calls for considerable water pressure and maintenance, as well as the additional cost of a storage unit. Also consider that every gallon of purified water takes an hour to produce and several gallons of wastewater. The total cost of use: 18 to 24 cents per gallon.

More convenient and manageable water purification technology is available in the form of pitchers and carafe-style filters. These use activated carbon and micron filtration to take out lead and chlorine. They are not cheap, and it’s one of those methods of water purification that forces you to replace the filters regularly. The cost works out to 25 cents per gallon.

The most advanced water purification technology for the kitchen is a multi stage system that combines a multi-media block, with granular carbon filters, sub-micron filtration and ion exchange. These methods of water purification are recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency as the best water purification technology available for removing VOCs, THMs and chlorine.

What makes them effective? A water purification technology called adsorption. Adsorption methods of water purification make use of chemical or physical bond, which affix the impurity to the outermost layer of the filter. In addition, lead is replaced with harmless potassium in a process called ion exchange. This also make the pH level healthier and balances out the mineral volumes.

For their part, multi-media blocks filter out bacterial cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium, as well as fine sediment. The blocks work because of a microscopically-fine grid of pores. No water is wasted, since water does not pass around this material, and electricity is not necessary.
